The Darlington Volunteer Fire Company is currently recruiting members for its Fire, EMS, and Administrative/Support divisions. Anyone interested in joining please stop by one of the stations for an application or fill out an online application from the toolbar. There are numerous benefits to joining the volunteer fire company including tax credits, lots of free job related training which can be used as college credits, LOSAP, and much more. All of this information will be available during the membership interview so stop by and see if your interested.

Early Morning Rescue Box for Darlington
Tue. Mar 2nd 2010

At approx. 2 am this morning (2/2/2010) the volunteers were awoken to rescue box 922 at the intersection on Conowingo Rd, and Rt. 136. C-9-2, R-951, E-912, M-991, Air-961, and M-992 were enroute within minutes. Chief 9-2 (D.Cox) arrived with a one vehicle 10-50, confirming rescue with two patients, in front of Moxleys. A-991 arrived shortly followed by R-951 extricating two patients from a suv that was rolled into a ditch. E-912, A-961 assisted units on scene with lighting, and patient packaging, later waiting for the arrival of a tow truck. Two patients were transported by VOLUNTEER MEDIC 991, and VOLUNTEER MEDIC 992 to 601 by land. Units were on scene for approx. 1 hour and then placed in service. Chief 9-2 (D.Cox) held the Conowingo Rd. command.
