The Darlington Volunteer Fire Company is always interested in recruiting new members..

The Fire Company is organized into three sections: Fire, Emergency Medical Services, and Administration.

Download the member application at the bottom of the page. Complete the application and print it out, mail the application to 2600 Castleton Road, PO Box 178 Darlington, Maryland 21034-0178 and the membership committee will contact you promptly.




Section Classifications and Descriptions

Fire: To protect and preserve life and property from and during fires and other emergencies. Provide fire prevention at schools, day care facilities, and assisted living facilities. Dispense smoke alarms to those in need.

EMS (Emergency Medical Services) : To provide our community, as well as surrounding communities, with the highest level of emergency medical care possible. Provide CPR and first aid classes to the community.

Administration: Support the Company administratively, logistically, and through fund raising activities. This support includes: food and drinks at fires and emergencies, meetings, banquets, publicity for the Company, historical data collection, public relations, clerical functions, record keeping and all other non-fire fighting activities. This Section also prepares and dispenses food baskets to needy families in our service area at Thanksgiving and Christmas and coordinates the renting of the Social Hall and the Training Room for such purposes as community meetings, youth group activities, the Darlington-Dublin Youth Panel, and other similar activities.


Minimum Requirements for Membership

• You must be 18 years or older, anyone under 18 will be classified as a cadet.

• If you are under the age of 18 you must submit a letter of permission with your application, signed by your parent or guardian.


The Membership Application Process

  • Complete and mail Application
  • Attend a interview with the membership committee
  • Pass a Criminal Background check
  • Designate a section classification for membership (Fire,EMS,Administration)
  • Pass a 2/3 company vote in the following monthly meeting
  • Pay a $5.00 per year membership fee

Based on the section classification of membership you choose. You are required to make and maintain a certain percentage of calls, training, and cleanups.
